Virtualization & Compute Infrastructure Engineer (VMware/Nutanix)

About the role

We are seeking a Virtualization & Compute Infrastructure Engineer to design, operate, and maintain our VMware vSphere and Nutanix AHV environments. The role includes managing Dell PowerEdge servers, handling L3 incidents, and automating routine tasks to ensure high availability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Administer VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter, including HA/DRS, clustering, patching, upgrades, lifecycle, and capacity management.
• Operate Nutanix AHV clusters via Prism, handling AOS and LCM upgrades, health monitoring, storage containers, and performance tuning.
• Provision, migrate, and decommission virtual machines following technical standards and change management processes.
• Integrate virtualization platforms with Disaster Recovery solutions such as Zerto, performing failover testing and maintaining recovery runbooks.
• Manage Dell PowerEdge servers, including firmware updates, hardware health monitoring, iDRAC administration, and vendor support coordination.
• Handle L3 incidents and problems escalated from Service Desk, conduct root‑cause analysis, and drive permanent resolutions.
• Maintain monitoring, capacity reports, operational documentation, and technical standards for the virtualization and compute environment.
• Automate routine operational tasks using PowerCLI and REST APIs.
• Collaborate with Storage, Backup, Network, and Database teams to ensure end‑to‑end service availability and performance.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise virtualization and compute environments.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with at least two virtualization platforms (VMware and Nutanix).
• Proven experience provisioning, migrating, and decommissioning VMs and integrating them with DR solutions.
• Experience handling L3 incidents, problem management, and root‑cause analysis in large‑scale environments.
