Accountant, Costing Accounting

About the role

The Cost Accounting Accountant supports product costing, manufacturing cost analysis, SAP costing activities, inventory valuation, and month‑end closing. Working closely with the Lead of Cost Accounting, the role ensures accurate standard and actual costing, proper cost allocation, and timely reporting across products and production lines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and update standard costing for products.
• Validate costing assumptions for raw materials, utilities, labor, overheads, and conversion costs.
• Produce manufacturing cost analysis reports by production line and product, and investigate cost variances.
• Review primary and secondary cost postings, analyse cost centre expenses, and ensure consistent cost allocation.
• Support SAP FI/CO, MM, PP, and Material Ledger modules during costing and month‑end closing activities.
• Maintain statistical key figures, calculate WIP, perform production order and variance analysis, and reconcile cost accounts.
• Assist with inventory valuation, inter‑company costing reconciliation, and transfer‑pricing monitoring.
• Validate and update costing master data such as BOMs, routings, activity prices, and overhead rates.
• Generate and analyse costing reports and dashboards for management.

Required profile

• Strong background in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting SAP FI/CO, MM, PP, and Material Ledger processes.
• Ability to analyse cost variances, identify root causes, and propose corrective actions.
• Attention to detail in cost allocation, inventory valuation, and master‑data maintenance.
