Accountant

About the role

The Accountant will support accounting supervisors and departmental managers by preparing daily worksheets, maintaining files, and handling a range of accounting duties. This role ensures accurate data entry, timely payroll processing, and proper documentation of all financial transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries for depreciation, accumulated depreciation, payables, receivables, and general ledger postings.
• Update personnel information for new hires, manage entitlements, deductions, and prepare payroll reports.
• Verify daily petty cash, prepare payment vouchers, and monitor cash receipts and bank deposits.
• Check customer invoices for accuracy, dispatch originals, and follow up on undelivered invoices.
• Maintain the Fixed Assets Register, calculate depreciation, and record profit or loss on asset sales.
• Produce ageing reports for customers and suppliers and generate Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience.

• Proficiency with General Ledger (GL) systems.
• Journal entry processing and depreciation calculations.
• Fixed assets management and depreciation provisioning.
• Payroll processing and related statutory reporting.
