Accounting & Tax Unit Head

About the role

The Accounting & Tax Unit Head leads the company’s accounting operations and ensures full compliance with Saudi Zakat, VAT, WHT, RETT and other ZATCA requirements. The role is responsible for the integrity of the general ledger, financial reporting, consolidation and the timely filing of all statutory tax obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting activities, including AP, AR, treasury and general ledger, and supervise the monthly, quarterly and year‑end closing processes.
• Prepare and finalize standalone and consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local regulations.
• Oversee Zakat, VAT, WHT and RETT compliance, file returns, handle audits and coordinate with ZATCA and external tax advisors.
• Coordinate external and internal audit activities, support audit committee reporting and ensure robust internal controls.
• Lead, coach and develop the accounting team, establish closing and tax calendars, and drive process automation and standardisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional accounting/tax qualification preferred.
• Extensive experience in accounting operations, IFRS financial reporting and Saudi tax/Zakat compliance.
• Hands‑on experience with ZATCA filings, tax audits, ERP/accounting systems and financial statement consolidation.
• Experience in real‑estate, development or complex corporate environments is advantageous.
