Application Architect

About the role

We are looking for an Application Architect to define, maintain and govern the application architecture across our enterprise and banking environments. The role focuses on shaping current‑state and target‑state application landscapes, establishing standards and ensuring designs align with the overall Enterprise Architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the application architecture, including current‑state and target‑state models.
• Develop architecture principles, standards and guidelines for applications, APIs and integration.
• Design application components, map relationships, dependencies and integration points.
• Assess application dependencies, technology risks and gaps between current and target states.
• Review and approve solution designs, ensuring compliance with Enterprise Architecture.
• Support modernization, rationalization and transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects, Security, Data, Infrastructure and development teams.
• Maintain the architecture repository, models and documentation, and monitor compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Application, Solution or Software Architecture.
• Experience in banking or financial services, preferably in a SAMA‑regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture principles and frameworks.
• Proven ability to govern architecture, conduct design reviews and enforce technology standards.
