Application Engineer

About the role

The Application Engineer will design and deliver software solutions that streamline business operations and enhance process efficiency. You will lead an application team, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure successful implementation and user adoption.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an application portfolio and associated project delivery.
• Identify and execute opportunities for application optimization, redesign, and process improvement.
• Provide administrative support and maintenance for enterprise applications.
• Partner with business stakeholders, vendors, and IT leadership to define strategic roadmaps.
• Balance scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources, and risk across multiple projects.
• Establish a technical culture focused on excellence, rapid iteration, security, and user experience.
• Oversee application maintenance outsourcing and software contract agreements, ensuring SLA compliance and cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in application engineering or a similar role.
• Relevant certifications such as CSM, PMP, ITIL Foundation or COBIT are a plus.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with project management principles and software management methodologies.
• Database management experience, including PL/SQL (Oracle knowledge is a plus).
• Familiarity with integration tools and technologies such as JSON.
• Experience with SaaS and cloud‑based services.
• Deep hands‑on experience with systems integrations.
