Application Support Engineer

About the role

Novelus Team is seeking an Application Support Engineer to maintain the availability and usability of non‑ERP business applications. The role involves handling incidents, coordinating with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams, and ensuring smooth operation of Windows/Linux servers and related services.

Key responsibilities

• Handle incidents and service requests, assess business impact, prioritize work and own resolution through closure.
• Investigate application logs, configurations, scheduled jobs, interfaces and API failures using authorized database queries.
• Support Windows and Linux servers, virtual machines, and application‑hosting environments, including performance monitoring and scheduled‑task troubleshooting.
• Perform approved Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and access‑management tasks and coordinate with network engineers.
• Apply operating‑system patches, software updates and configuration changes with pre‑change checks, testing and rollback preparation.
• Monitor infrastructure alerts and backup jobs, assist with restores and disaster‑recovery exercises.
• Maintain runbooks, asset records, known errors and vendor contacts, and implement corrective actions for recurring incidents.

Required profile

• 4–7 years of production application support experience, including at least 2 years in L2 diagnosis and vendor escalation.
• Experience with non‑ERP applications and their business workflows.
• Strong ability to distinguish application, data, network and infrastructure faults.
• Excellent business communication in English; Arabic is a plus for onsite collaboration.
