Area Lead – Mine Facilities

About the role

Wood is seeking an Area Lead – Mine Facilities to support the development of a new gold mining and processing facility in Saudi Arabia. The role will be involved throughout the construction and pre‑commissioning phases, initially based in an office in Al Khobar, Riyadh or Jubail before moving to a site‑based assignment on an 8 days on / 2 days off rotation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate activities related to the construction of the gold mining and processing facility.
• Manage pre‑commissioning tasks to ensure systems are ready for hand‑over.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and external contractors.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Report progress and issues to senior project management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading construction or pre‑commissioning projects in the mining sector.
• Ability to work on a rotating schedule and adapt to on‑site conditions.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
