Assistant Manager – Audit & Assurance (Financial Services)

About the role

Deloitte is seeking an Assistant Manager to join its Audit & Assurance practice in Riyadh, focusing on the financial services sector. You will work with a diverse team to deliver high‑quality audits for insurance and other financial institutions, applying innovative approaches and AI‑enabled tools.

Key responsibilities

• Understand key statistics and industry matters of the client before engagement begins, reviewing prior year financial statements and audit documentation.
• Coordinate with management, experts and specialists to define deliverables, timelines and the contribution of specialist work to audit objectives.
• Track findings, follow up on pending work, and ensure appropriate professional scepticism is applied throughout procedures.
• Sign off on work performed, complete checklists, tailoring and concluding questions, and verify that team members have signed off correctly.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, identify early‑cycle audit priorities and prepare documentation that anticipates reviewer questions.
• Promote a questioning mindset, encourage professional scepticism and ensure objectivity, independence and continuance decisions are well documented.
• Verify that engagement staff possess adequate technical and industry knowledge, and provide briefings as required.
• Apply AI in the audit context to improve efficiency and quality, including prompt engineering and structured problem‑solving, while exercising professional scepticism on AI‑generated outputs.
• Adhere to responsible AI expectations, governance, confidentiality and data‑integrity standards using firm‑approved AI tools.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of auditing experience with leading professional services firms or large multinationals, preferably in insurance.
• Degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA, SOCPA or equivalent certification.
• Proven record of managing audit engagements and delivering high‑quality work.
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking, writing); Arabic is a plus.
• Demonstrated commitment to personal learning, brand ambassadorship and effective communication.
