Assistant Pastry Chef – French Cuisine

About the role

Join the pastry team at Sofitel Shahd Al Madinah, a 5‑star hotel that blends local traditions with elegant French hospitality. As an Assistant Pastry Chef you will support the creation of high‑quality French pastries and desserts while learning in a dynamic, luxury‑hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of French pastries, cakes, tarts, viennoiseries, breads, chocolates and specialty desserts.
• Ensure consistency, quality and presentation of all pastry products following standard recipes and portion controls.
• Participate in menu development and seasonal dessert promotions.
• Support the Pastry Chef in daily production planning, scheduling and coordination of kitchen activities.
• Maintain equipment, monitor inventory levels and report shortages.
• Comply with HACCP, food‑safety and hygiene regulations, keeping the pastry kitchen clean and organized.

Required profile

• Diploma or Certificate in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in pastry production, preferably in luxury hotels or French bakeries.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of French pastry techniques.
• Understanding of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Proficiency in recipe execution and portion control.
