Auditor – SME Tax Assessment

About the role

The Auditor will support the tax authority in assessing and auditing small and medium‑size enterprises (SMEs). Working under close supervision, the incumbent will research, gather and analyse financial information, draft audit reports and communicate with taxpayers to clarify declarations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update assessment templates and audit tools in line with operational procedures and policies to ensure timely SME tax valuation.
• Monitor industry developments across sectors such as business, insurance, telecommunications and consumer goods, and incorporate new tax practices into assessments.
• Review current audit files and past audit results to validate sales, accounts receivable, imports, inventory and related accounts.
• Prepare high‑risk case reports based on audit findings and communicate results to relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate with the Legal Support Department to ensure compliance with the Authority’s technical positions, laws, policies and regulations.
• Submit accepted audit reports to the chairs for review, incorporate feedback, and finalize audit results.
• Review drafted audit reports for policy compliance, approve tax amounts and provide feedback to auditors for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax audit or related financial auditing.
• Competencies in Tax Audit Planning, Tax Audit Techniques and Execution, Broad Taxation Awareness, Tax Audit Management, Professionalism, Collaboration and Communication, Results Orientation, Customer Focus, and Enablement of Change and Innovation.
