Automation Senior Engineer

About the role

The Automation Senior Engineer will provide technical support for automated material handling equipment in warehouses and distribution centres. You will troubleshoot complex electrical and electronic issues, ensure system uptime and work closely with internal and external teams.

Key responsibilities

• Modify and repair interfaces between PLCs and Material Flow Systems to keep production running.
• Diagnose and replace faulty components such as sensors, scanners, motors, frequency inverters and encoders.
• Identify root causes of faults, implement permanent solutions and update the help‑desk ticketing system.
• Collaborate with software developers, onsite staff and external suppliers to maximise system performance.
• Analyse daily operation reports, design test scenarios and propose continuous improvements.
• Develop and deliver training, create system manuals and support users.
• Monitor machine performance, produce daily reports for management and represent the company in international automation forums.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in automation, control systems or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, motors, drives, controllers, HMIs and communication protocols.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including holidays, and to operate both indoor and outdoor environments.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
