Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to design and build scalable services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot within a micro‑services environment. The role involves end‑to‑end delivery of complex features, from technical design through production, and collaboration with cross‑functional squads.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Implement micro‑service architecture patterns and optimize database interactions.
• Build event‑driven pipelines using Kafka and other enterprise messaging systems.
• Ensure security, performance, availability, and maintainability through secure coding practices.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce engineering standards, and mentor junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and provide durable fixes.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment, and observability on OpenShift/Kubernetes.
• Identify technical debt and drive improvements in design and code quality.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot in a production environment.
• Hands‑on knowledge of micro‑services, REST APIs, and relational databases.
• Familiarity with event‑driven architectures and Kafka.
• Experience deploying and operating applications on OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• Commitment to secure coding, code quality, and continuous improvement.
