Backend Engineer - Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable backend services for our digital products. The role is fully remote and contract‑based, offering the chance to work with a high‑performing engineering team on challenging, high‑impact projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust backend services and APIs that meet performance and reliability targets.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and implement effective solutions.
• Optimize systems for security, efficiency and scalability, ensuring seamless user experiences.
• Write clean, well‑documented, thoroughly tested code following best engineering practices.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor peers and share knowledge across the team.
• Monitor production environments, troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvements.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and propose innovative, solution‑oriented ideas.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a fully remote, fast‑paced environment.
• Proactive, solution‑focused attitude with a passion for solving complex technical challenges.

Required skills

• Modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, Node.js).
• Design and implementation of RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Relational databases (SQL) and NoSQL databases, including data modeling.
• System security, authentication and authorization best practices.
• Cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Containerization with Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with event‑driven or serverless architectures (optional).
