Campus & Community Engagement Specialist

About the role

The Campus & Community Engagement Specialist supports the planning, coordination and delivery of communication activities across the campus and wider community. Working closely with the Engagement Lead, the role ensures consistent messaging that aligns with KAUST and C&C branding standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support the planning, development and delivery of targeted communication and engagement campaigns across designated channels.
• Draft clear, audience‑appropriate copy, content briefs, executive summaries and regular campaign updates.
• Publish approved announcements and maintain assigned sections of the C&C website using CMS platforms.
• Create, schedule and publish content while monitoring basic performance metrics on social media tools.
• Support the creation of key visuals, layouts and multimedia assets using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Coordinate with internal proponents, GBC, consultants and external partners to clarify objectives, timelines and audience needs.
• Provide rigorous proofreading, fact‑checking and quality control, translating technical updates into accessible messages.
• Maintain task visibility using project‑tracking software and step up to lead select activities during team absences.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Media, Copywriting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, copywriting or corporate communications.
• Practical experience publishing websites via CMS platforms and using social‑media scheduling and analytics tools.
• Basic graphic‑design capability with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva; photography or video‑editing experience preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal English skills with strong editorial judgment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple strict deadlines and work independently.
