Career Development & Internship Lead

About the role

The Career Development & Internship Lead provides career counseling, professional development and internship support to KAUST students, helping them identify career pathways aligned with their skills, interests and academic background. The role gives direct, student-centered career advising across graduate and academic programs, and works under the direction of the Head, Career Development & Industry Partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Career counseling: run one-on-one advising sessions on career exploration, job search, CV and resume writing, cover letters, interviewing, networking, professional branding and employment preparation, and help students turn their skills into competencies valued by employers.
• Internship development: expand internship opportunities locally and internationally, build a database of internship hosts and opportunities, match students to placements, coordinate with faculty and academic divisions, and support students through application, interview and completion.
• Programs and professional development: plan and deliver workshops and seminars on career exploration, job searching, networking, LinkedIn and personal branding, and workplace readiness.
• Record advising activity, gather student feedback and use it to improve services.
• Monitor internship quality and effectiveness, document placements and employer feedback, and build relationships with hosts to encourage repeat placements.

The role works closely with academic divisions, faculty, student services, alumni and graduate employment colleagues and external partners. Applications are made through the university's careers site.
