Chief Accountant / Accounting Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading beauty, fragrance, personal care and luxury retail distribution company in Saudi Arabia, seeks an experienced Accounting Manager/Chief Accountant. The role involves full ownership of the accounting function, financial closing, compliance, audit coordination and inventory accounting across multiple stores and warehouses.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full set of books and lead month‑end and year‑end closing under IFRS, ensuring monthly close within 10 working days.
• Manage general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, provisions and financial reporting.
• Coordinate directly with external auditors and handle all audit requirements.
• Oversee VAT, withholding tax, zakat, corporate income tax and ZATCA compliance, including Phase 2 e‑invoicing integration.
• Supervise inventory accounting, stock counts, shrinkage, landed cost, consignment and inter‑company transfers.
• Execute accounting activities in SAP, including running the financial close.
• Lead and develop a team of at least three accounting professionals.
• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Current SOCPA registration, CPA, ACCA or CMA.
• 8–12 years total experience, with at least 3 years as Chief Accountant or Accounting Manager.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in Saudi Arabia.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Saudi tax regulations.
• Hands‑on experience with ZATCA audits and e‑invoicing Phase 2.
• Proven inventory‑heavy retail or distribution accounting experience.
• Fluent in Arabic and English (working proficiency).
