Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will oversee daily accounting operations, ensure accurate reporting and compliance, and support the Financial Controller in implementing the hotel’s financial strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting activities, mentor staff and maintain effective teamwork.
• Verify daily bank balances and credit‑card reconciliations for Director of Finance approval.
• Ensure the General Cashier report is accurate and that daily revenue is deposited.
• Perform month‑end reconciliations of all general‑ledger balances before issuing financial statements.
• Report any gaps or variances to the Director of Finance.
• Review monthly reports such as F&B and Cost Controller reports in line with company policy.
• Ensure timely tax payments and filings, resolving any variances.
• Prepare various monthly management reports as required.
• Assist the Financial Controller with accounting policy application, budgeting, financial analysis and ad‑hoc duties.
• Maintain proper filing of accounting records and contracts for easy retrieval.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with hotel finance and non‑finance systems.
