Chief Compliance Officer and MLRO, Vice President

About the role

State Street is recruiting a Chief Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for its Saudi Arabia Financial Services (SSSAFS) unit in Riyadh. The role manages the Compliance and Financial Crimes programmes and provides compliance advisory support to the business units. It is being recruited under the Saudi Nationalization Scheme, so a Saudi National is required.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the assessment of Compliance and Financial Crimes risks and deliver the regulatory compliance oversight programme in line with Capital Market Authority (CMA) rules.
• Advise the business on regulatory queries, close compliance issues promptly and support management on compliance matters affecting business decisions.
• Act as the Compliance and Financial Crimes representative in governance committees and forums, and report to Senior Management on compliance risk and progress.
• Identify and deliver compliance and financial crimes training for relevant staff, coordinate with other locations and manage the local compliance policy framework, including input to regional and global policies.
• Monitor regulatory and legislative changes, interpret them and feed back to stakeholders; contribute to the GRCM process as required.
• Take part in strategic initiatives and maintain ongoing relations with the CMA, including inspections, licences, applications and reporting.

Required profile

• Saudi National.
• Degree level education.
• 8+ years of related experience, including previous experience managing staff.
• Experience in an international capital market institution is preferred.
• Knowledge of SSSAFS business products and CMA regulatory requirements.

Required skills

• CMA certificates CME 1 and CME 2 (must have).
• Risk management, influencing others, decision making, attention to detail and teamwork.
