City Manager

About the role

The City Manager leads all dark‑store operations across the Southern region, ensuring operational excellence, service quality, productivity and profitability. This senior role acts as the key operational bridge between field teams and senior leadership in a fast‑paced retail and FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of multiple dark‑store clusters, meeting KPIs such as order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, productivity, shrinkage and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor store performance, implement corrective actions and ensure compliance with SOPs, safety regulations and company policies.
• Lead, coach and develop Area Managers, fostering a performance‑driven culture and supporting workforce planning, staffing and succession initiatives.
• Analyse operational and financial reports to identify trends, drive city‑level targets and improve service levels and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimise delivery timelines, fulfillment efficiency and operational costs.
• Ensure continuous improvement through process compliance, people performance management and KPI tracking.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in retail, FMCG, e‑commerce or dark‑store operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing multi‑site operations.
• Strong leadership, analytical and operational planning abilities.
• Proven experience managing large teams in fast‑paced environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office tools.
