Civil Engineer

About the role

The Civil Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing civil construction activities from project execution through completion, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, schedules, and contractual requirements. The role requires strong site supervision, technical coordination, quantity verification, progress monitoring, and contractor management.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise civil construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, method statements and project requirements.
• Review and interpret architectural, structural and civil drawings, identifying discrepancies and required clarifications.
• Monitor project progress against schedules, identify delays or risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Verify quantities, measurements and material requirements against BOQs and contractual documents.
• Control quality of works, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards and approved materials.
• Conduct regular site inspections to assess workmanship, safety and adherence to technical documentation.
• Evaluate contractor performance, review work programmes, method statements and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, project managers and suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth execution.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
• Strong background in construction site supervision and project execution.
• Ability to review drawings, quantities, progress, quality and contractor performance.
