Civil Engineer - Transportation Planning & Traffic Engineering

About the role

Eram Talent is recruiting a Civil Engineer specializing in Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering for work in Saudi Arabia, with an on-site workplace. The role covers the design, analysis and implementation of transportation systems that improve mobility and road safety, including traffic studies, transportation planning and collaboration with stakeholders to ease congestion.

Key responsibilities

• Interface with company representatives and government authorities on traffic and transportation safety improvements in the Eastern Province.
• Act as technical lead for traffic safety engineering tasks, overseeing and guiding subordinate engineers.
• Review and help develop scopes of work for projects and studies such as road safety audits, traffic impact studies and temporary traffic management.
• Review and give initial input on designs and specifications of existing and proposed roadway schemes, applying industry standards and guidelines.
• Prepare letters, meeting notes, working papers, technical notes, reports and presentations.
• Build the technical capacity of the Traffic Safety Services Engineering group through training and knowledge-sharing processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering.
• Professional certification and license (PE, PTOE, PTP, RoSPA or RSP).
• Experience conducting traffic studies and designing signal plans.

Required skills

• Highway design, transportation planning and traffic safety studies.
• Familiarity with AASHTO Green Book, HCM, HSM, MUTCD and ITE/FHWA guidelines.
• Traffic modeling software such as VISSIM, SYNCHRO and HCS.
• Strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles, policies and standards.
