Civil Technical Support Engineer – HV and EHV Substation and OHTL Projects

About the role

The Civil Technical Support Engineer provides technical expertise and support for high‑voltage (HV) and extra‑high‑voltage (EHV) substation and overhead transmission line (OHTL) projects. The role ensures that design intent is maintained, standards are complied with, and civil works are fully integrated with electrical and mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage the design submission schedule and coordinate with designers to ensure timely deliverables.
• Review civil and architectural submittals for compliance with Saudi codes, constructability and cost implications.
• Obtain inputs from electrical, mechanical and project teams to avoid design delays.
• Apply value‑engineering principles to optimise design efficiency and cost.
• Coordinate with the Estimation team to align drawings with the Bill of Quantities.
• Verify compliance with applicable codes, regulations and industry standards.
• Provide technical support to construction teams during execution and maintain proper documentation of design submissions.
• Track design changes, update drawings and communicate them to site teams.
• Conduct site visits to verify implementation and resolve issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing within the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in civil and structural design for HV and EHV substations.
• Experience in multidisciplinary coordination and site support is preferred.
