Contract Management and Procurement Supervisor

About the role

The Contract Management and Procurement Supervisor will oversee the full lifecycle of contracts and purchasing activities for Avalon Pharmaceuticals. This role ensures that all agreements are legally sound, align with business objectives, and that procurement processes deliver the right goods and services on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and revise supply, service, consulting, CMO, after‑sales, NDA, outsourcing and licensing contracts.
• Ensure contract language is clear, accurate and complies with company policies, local laws and industry regulations.
• Collaborate with Contract Initiator, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, QA, RA, Business Development, Engineering and other functions to align contract terms.
• Facilitate approvals, track obligations, milestones, renewals and expiry dates, and monitor vendor performance.
• Maintain a centralized contract repository, develop templates, checklists and standard clauses, and support digital contract management systems.
• Receive purchase requisitions, determine procurement needs, collect offers from approved vendors and negotiate price, quality, terms and delivery.
• Create and issue purchase orders, follow up with finance for order release and payments, and coordinate receipt and GRN creation.
• Resolve order discrepancies, maintain up‑to‑date purchasing records, and prepare reports on open purchase orders and requisitions.
• Monitor delivery schedules against production plans and manage stock levels to avoid shortages.

Required profile

• Minimum 48 months (4 years) of experience in contract management and procurement.
• Strong knowledge of local legal requirements and industry regulations related to contracts.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with finance, legal, QA, RA, BD and engineering teams.
• Detail‑oriented with experience tracking contract obligations, milestones and vendor performance.
