Cover Teacher (Junior School KG1‑Grade 3)

About the role

The school is seeking a Cover Teacher for Junior School classes ranging from KG1 to Grade 3 (ages 3‑9). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high‑quality instruction, safeguarding student welfare, and maintaining a safe, stimulating learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver schemes of work in line with the Misk Curriculum and local requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance and statutory documentation.
• Provide pastoral support, monitor wellbeing and report safeguarding concerns.
• Supervise students during registration, assemblies, playtime, lunchtimes and dismissal as required.
• Collaborate with colleagues, learning support teams and external professionals to meet individual student needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (essential) and Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent (essential).
• At least two years of relevant post‑qualification teaching experience with evidence of outstanding performance.
• Demonstrated ability to use assessment data to inform planning and improve student outcomes.
• Strong communication skills for engaging with parents, staff and external partners.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Google Suite).
