Cybersecurity Operations Engineer

About the role

Novelus Team is looking for a Cybersecurity Operations Engineer to operate accepted security controls, identify and triage security events, coordinate response and remediation, and maintain evidence of compliance with company‑approved security requirements. The role combines hands‑on endpoint security, incident handling, and vulnerability assessment within a fast‑growing, technology‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review EDR and security‑monitoring alerts, validate suspicious activity, investigate affected users or devices, and escalate incidents according to severity.
• Administer approved endpoint policies, perform containment actions, and obtain approvals for disruptive changes.
• Assess perimeter security configurations, identify weak rules or exposure gaps, and work with the infrastructure team on remediation.
• Run vulnerability assessments on agreed assets, prioritize findings, assign owners, and verify remediation.
• Support privileged‑access reviews, security baseline checks, and maintain an exception register with risk reporting.
• Assist with security gap assessments, risk assessments, control implementation, policy updates, and audit evidence preparation.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in security operations, including endpoint security, incident handling, and vulnerability remediation.
• Hands‑on experience with EDR, SIEM, and firewall technologies, as well as Windows and Linux security fundamentals.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 27001, ISMS, and GRC practices, including risk assessments and audit support.
