Design Engineer (Manufacturing)

About the role

The Design Engineer will lead the engineering design, analysis, and documentation of heavy fabricated equipment such as pressure vessels, piping systems, and process equipment. The role ensures all designs comply with ASME codes, NACE standards, relevant pipeline codes, and customer specifications while meeting safety, manufacturability, and cost objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, and technical documentation in accordance with ASME (Section VIII, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8), NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156, and client specifications (e.g., Aramco, ADNOC).
• Perform mechanical design calculations including thickness, stress analysis, nozzle loads, supports, and reinforcement.
• Develop 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, generating general arrangement, fabrication, isometric drawings, and BOMs.
• Select appropriate materials based on process conditions, corrosion considerations, and standards (ASTM, ASME, API); review material test certificates for compliance.
• Coordinate with Production, Planning, QA/QC, and Procurement teams, providing technical support during fabrication, welding, and inspection.
• Interface with customers, third‑party inspectors, and consultants to review specifications, datasheets, and RFQs.
• Conduct internal design reviews, support HAZOP and risk assessments, and ensure proper documentation for code compliance and audits.
• Identify opportunities for design optimization, cost reduction, and standardization of practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing pressure vessels, piping, and process equipment in compliance with ASME, NACE, and relevant pipeline codes.
• Ability to work on‑site in Saudi Arabia and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
