Design & Interface Manager – Aviation

About the role

WSP Middle East is looking for a Design & Interface Manager to lead design coordination and interface management for a major airport modernisation programme in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working closely with clients, airport operators, consultants, contractors and authorities to ensure successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design coordination and integration across the aviation project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain the Design Management Plan, Interface Register and Design Deliverables Schedule.
• Manage interfaces with clients, consultants, contractors, operators and authorities to ensure effective delivery.
• Coordinate design packages, construction sequencing and operational requirements.
• Lead BIM collaboration, clash resolution and technical issue management.
• Oversee design reviews, change management and quality assurance to meet codes, standards and best practices.
• Facilitate technical workshops, multidisciplinary coordination meetings and monitor design progress and risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 18 years of experience in multidisciplinary design management on large‑scale infrastructure or aviation projects.
• At least five years of experience managing design and interface activities on major aviation programmes.
• Strong understanding of airport planning, passenger terminal operations and international aviation regulations (ICAO, IATA).
• Proven ability to lead design coordination, manage technical interfaces and deliver within programme and quality objectives.
