Design Manager – Engineering Discipline Lead

About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced Engineering Discipline Manager to provide overall managerial and technical leadership for a major engineering discipline on large, complex programs. The role involves steering engineering delivery, staffing, quality, and productivity while supporting business development and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery on projects exceeding $250 million in total installed cost.
• Develop and approve staffing budgets, resource plans, and workforce forecasts.
• Monitor quality, progress, productivity, and technical performance across multiple projects.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, procedures, technical manuals, and best practices.
• Provide technical oversight for complex engineering issues ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and manage engineering personnel, including performance evaluations and succession planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of progressive engineering experience with significant managerial responsibility.
• Proven experience managing large‑scale infrastructure, transportation, building, utilities, or industrial programs.
