Director of Detailed Masterplan

About the role

The Director of Detailed Masterplan will lead the planning, development, coordination and delivery of the Al‑Mashaer Masterplan. This senior position ensures the plan aligns with strategic vision, economic development goals, sustainability targets and infrastructure requirements while managing a wide range of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the overall vision, objectives and development principles for the Al‑Mashaer masterplan.
• Ensure alignment with national and regional development strategies and establish planning frameworks, design guidelines and standards.
• Oversee preparation, review and approval of preliminary and detailed masterplans.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams of urban planners, architects, engineers and infrastructure specialists.
• Engage with government entities, regulatory authorities, investors, utility providers and other key stakeholders.
• Facilitate decision‑making workshops, resolve planning conflicts and obtain necessary approvals.
• Guide land‑use planning, zoning, density allocation and development controls.
• Validate transportation networks, crowd‑management, mobility strategies and utility corridors.
• Integrate sustainability, environmental, climate‑resilience and ESG principles into the masterplan.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks and deliverables, and define KPIs and performance measures.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale masterplan development and implementation.
• Strong knowledge of urban planning, land‑use, transportation, utilities and environmental considerations.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with government agencies, investors and multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Experience in integrating sustainability, smart‑city and ESG concepts into urban projects.
