Director of Urban Planning

About the role

Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking a Director of Urban Planning to lead planning and design strategy across a portfolio of large‑scale entertainment, sports and cultural destination projects in Saudi Arabia. You will ensure alignment between vision, design quality, commercial feasibility and long‑term development goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enforce planning and design policies, processes and controls.
• Prepare and manage the Place, Planning and Design budget.
• Lead the creation and implementation of design guidelines for all portfolio projects.
• Support project teams through design direction, review and internal specification processes.
• Coordinate design efforts among multiple consultants from concept to execution, ensuring master‑plan compliance.
• Track and monitor design packages to deliver consistent, efficient solutions.
• Ensure commercial viability and regulatory compliance of design solutions.
• Manage design processes from land acquisition through detailed design approvals.
• Lead team performance, set objectives, and provide mentoring and coaching.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Design, Architecture or a related field.
• Extensive experience with large mixed‑use destination developments.
• Hands‑on experience ensuring master‑plan compliance across large portfolios.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
