Drafting Trainer (Oil & Gas)

About the role

The Drafting Trainer plans, delivers and evaluates technical training programmes in drafting for trainees and employees, mainly in the Oil & Gas sector. The role covers classroom instruction, practical demonstrations, assessment of trainee performance and development of training materials.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver classroom and practical drafting training covering basic, intermediate and advanced techniques and standards.
• Develop and maintain training materials such as lesson plans, presentations, manuals, quizzes, examinations and instructional resources.
• Assess trainees through written and practical evaluations, give constructive feedback and recommend improvement plans.
• Monitor attendance, progress and classroom discipline.
• Maintain accurate training records and assessment results according to company procedures.
• Ensure training complies with company policies, engineering standards and HSE requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or an Associate Degree/Diploma in Drafting Technology, or a High School/Vocational Diploma in Engineering Drawing or Drafting.
• At least 4 years of relevant Oil & Gas experience with a degree, or 11 years without a degree.
• Fluent spoken and written English (minimum IELTS 6.0 or equivalent TOEFL); Arabic is an advantage.
• Experience in training, mentoring, coaching or delivering technical instruction.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Drafting experience in mechanical, civil, structural or architectural drafting.
