Electrical Engineer - Plant Maintenance

About the role

ACWA Power is hiring a full-time Electrical Engineer for its Alkhafa plant in Saudi Arabia, within the Maintenance department. The post reports to the Section Head and plans and supervises preventive and corrective maintenance, monthly and annual outages and overhauls of plant electrical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance, monthly and annual outage and overhaul work on plant electrical equipment.
• Assign maintenance jobs, supervise and coordinate maintenance staff, and maintain records and reports.
• Execute work orders through the CMMS (SAP) and coordinate with the planning engineer.
• Help the Maintenance Manager deliver corrective and planned maintenance according to the annual schedule.
• Evaluate quotations from the purchase department, prepare purchase requisitions for spare parts and consumables, and arrange strategic spares.
• Review and recommend new maintenance procedures and work instructions.
• Lead the maintenance team, give on-the-job training to new employees and carry out annual performance evaluations.
• Ensure environmental impact and hazard risk assessments are carried out, and manage Integrated Management System (IMS) objectives, targets and programs.
• Ensure legal, contractual and organisational compliance, investigate non-conformances and report emergencies and incidents.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (B.E.) in Electrical Engineering; minimum 4-8 years of related experience, preferably 10 years.
• Awareness of quality, occupational health and safety and environmental management systems, and knowledge of applicable legal requirements.
• Ability to lead a maintenance group and excellent English communication skills.
• Preferred: ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 awareness.

• Hazard risk assessment, aspect impact assessment and emission monitoring.
• SAP as an end user and Microsoft Outlook.
• Spillage containment, waste identification, classification and disposal, and emergency management.
