Electrical Technician – Power & Desalination Plant

About the role

The Electrical Technician is responsible for preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and testing of all electrical equipment and systems in the Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) and Desalination Plant. The role ensures safe, reliable and efficient operation of electrical assets to support uninterrupted power and water production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on major electrical systems following OEM manuals and industry best practices.
• Diagnose faults independently, determine failure conditions and rectify defects.
• Collaborate with plant operations personnel to resolve control‑equipment issues under the guidance of the Electrical Foreman/Engineer.
• Organise spares, tools and equipment required for maintenance activities.
• Record and report all PM/CM jobs to the Foreman and update the CMMS after each activity.
• Ensure all work complies with permit authorisations, health & safety procedures and isolation requirements.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks and incident investigations.
• Support 24‑hour plant operation by being available for short‑notice call‑outs.
• Maintain computer literacy in SAP, MS Office and the CMMS.
• Hold a valid Saudi driving licence.

Required profile

• Medically fit for power‑plant conditions, including exposure to high voltage, heat, noise and confined spaces.
• Physical strength and stamina to stand, walk, climb and lift tools/equipment up to 25 kg.
• Ability to work at heights, on scaffolds and around overhead cranes.
• Good vision and hearing (corrective lenses acceptable).
• Practical knowledge of plant isolation and electrical safety.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow strict safety culture.
