Embedded Systems Engineer

About the role

PerfectVision is looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer to develop firmware for connected telematics devices. You will create efficient C/C++ code for microcontrollers, integrate vehicle data acquisition, and ensure secure, reliable communication between the device and the cloud.

Key responsibilities

• Design, write, and maintain firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers running on FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or bare‑metal.
• Develop device drivers and low‑level interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, GPIO, and DMA.
• Implement vehicle‑bus communication (CAN, OBD‑II, J1939, Modbus) and cellular telemetry using MQTT, TCP/IP, TLS, CoAP, and HTTP.
• Create robust OTA update mechanisms with rollback and integrity verification.
• Optimize firmware for low power consumption, memory usage, and long‑term field reliability.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers during board bring‑up and with platform teams on data contracts.
• Write unit and integration tests, debug with JTAG/SWD, and support field diagnostics.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on embedded development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C (and preferably C++) on resource‑constrained microcontrollers.
• Experience with RTOS concepts, interrupts, and real‑time constraints.
• Practical knowledge of serial protocols (UART, SPI, I2C) and at least one vehicle bus (CAN/OBD‑II).
• Familiarity with cellular or wireless connectivity and MQTT/TCP‑IP networking.
• Comfortable using hardware debug tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD.
