Emergency Nurse 3 – Advanced Level Nursing

About the role

The Emergency Nurse 3 provides advanced‑level nursing care within the Emergency Department, ensuring high standards of patient safety, quality care, and efficient workflow. The role involves mentoring junior staff, supporting strategic initiatives, and responding swiftly to critical situations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality nursing care for complex emergency cases, following clinical protocols and evidence‑based practices.
• Mentor and precept intermediate‑level nurses, junior staff, and new hires during their probationary period.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and improve protocols that enhance patient safety and operational efficiency.
• Manage unit workflow, optimize resource utilization, and ensure adherence to the Clinical Advancement Program requirements.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care from admission through discharge, respecting patient privacy, dignity, and cultural preferences.
• Provide patient and family education aligned with the plan of care.
• Respond promptly to emergency and life‑saving situations using critical thinking and clinical expertise.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients, families, visitors, and staff.

Required profile

• International Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (minimum 3 years of study).
• Current licensure as a professional Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 4 years of nursing experience, including at least 2 years in Emergency Care.
• Commitment to the JHAH Nursing Professional Practice Model and high staff engagement.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
