Equipment Management Officer – Container Yard

About the role

The Equipment Office is responsible for all container yard equipment (RS, EH, tractors, trailers, FL) and maintains all maintenance requirements, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and breakdowns. The position is based in King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), within the Container Yard department, reporting to the CY Supervisor or CY Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor equipment condition on a daily basis and manage the daily operator checklist, which is reviewed.
• Keep records for each machine of maintenance time, working hours and running hours, checked physically.
• Work with outsourced technical suppliers and arrange all maintenance requirements (preventive, corrective and breakdown).
• Plan the maintenance schedule and ensure preventive maintenance replacements; aim to keep breakdown time to a minimum so it does not affect operations.
• Solve critical or operational failures and report them to the supervisor or manager immediately.
• Coordinate closely with the receiving, dispatching and shipping officers.
• Follow Saudi laws and internal safety and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum diploma or equivalent, with two to three years of related experience in containers industry.
• Good background in warehouse operations and knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Driving licence.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and stoop for long periods; good eyesight.

Required skills

• Reading and writing reports, preparing documents and forms, and maintaining equipment records, statistics and supplier contact lists.
• Speaking and writing English.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Learning ability and familiarity with the company operating system.
