Executive Director of Pilates

About the role

The Executive Director of Pilates will shape and lead the overall Pilates strategy, technical direction, program standards, and instructor excellence across the organization, ensuring a premium and consistent client experience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and drive the organization’s Pilates strategy, methodology, and program direction.
• Establish and maintain technical standards for classes, private sessions, and instructor practices.
• Lead creation of new Pilates programs, concepts, class formats, and service offerings.
• Oversee recruitment, assessment, onboarding, and development of Pilates instructors and senior trainers.
• Set instructor competency standards, certification requirements, and performance criteria.
• Monitor class quality and ensure consistent delivery across studios and locations.
• Conduct regular technical evaluations and provide coaching to instructors.
• Stay updated on international Pilates trends, equipment, certifications, and best practices.
• Collaborate with the General Manager on business growth, studio expansion, and customer experience.
• Support capacity planning based on studio demand and expansion needs.
• Ensure programs meet safety, quality, and professional standards.
• Represent the organization at industry events and partnerships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; recognized Pilates certification highly preferred.
• 8–12 years of experience in Pilates, fitness, or wellness, with significant leadership responsibility.
• Deep knowledge of Pilates methodologies, equipment, programming, and instructor development.
• Proven track record managing large teams of Pilates instructors or fitness professionals.
• Experience establishing technical standards, training frameworks, and quality‑assurance processes.
• Experience supporting multi‑studio or large‑scale Pilates operations.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
