Faculty Member in Respiratory Therapy

About the role

The Faculty Member in Respiratory Therapy will join the Respiratory Therapy Program at Batterjee Medical College. The role involves delivering undergraduate courses, supervising clinical rotations, conducting research, and mentoring students to prepare them for evidence‑based patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses through lectures, labs, tutorials, simulation and clinical teaching using student‑centered approaches.
• Supervise students during clinical rotations in hospitals and healthcare facilities.
• Deliver core subjects such as cardiopulmonary assessment, mechanical ventilation, airway management, pulmonary diagnostics, critical care and emergency respiratory care.
• Utilise Blackboard LMS, ExamSoft and simulation technology for instruction and assessment.
• Develop course materials, assessments and examinations aligned with program outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades and clinical evaluations.
• Provide academic advising, mentorship and constructive feedback to students.
• Conduct research in respiratory therapy or related fields, publish in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences.
• Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, accreditation activities and quality assurance initiatives.
