Field Service Engineer – Power Plant Outage Management

About the role

The Field Service Engineer will support end‑to‑end outage management for a large power plant, ensuring cost‑effective, high‑quality service that enhances long‑term asset reliability and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in pre‑outage planning up to 18 months ahead, covering scope, resources, spare parts, and QA plans.
• Conduct pre‑outage technical studies of equipment history, OEM recommendations, and failure root causes.
• Monitor daily execution progress, manage stakeholders, arrange permits, spare parts, and tools, and update schedules.
• Produce daily and weekly performance reports and coordinate quality control inspections.
• Lead post‑execution reporting, documenting outcomes, lessons learned, and corrective actions.
• Serve as technical expert for critical equipment (e.g., gas or steam turbines) and share best practices with teams and vendors.
• Adhere to organisational policies, health‑safety‑security‑environment (HSSE) procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams (GM – Field Services, Project Manager, Planning, Maintenance) and external vendors/consultants.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in operations and maintenance of large power plants.
• Experience managing at least one turbine outage; OEM outage execution experience is a plus.
• Strong strategic, commercial, and analytical mindset with senior‑level communication and negotiation abilities.
