Field Support Specialist (Freelance / Dispatch)

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Freelance Field Support Specialist to deliver on‑site IT assistance when full‑time engineers are unavailable or when dispatch activities require immediate attention. The role involves supporting desktops, laptops, printers and meeting‑room technology across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site support for Windows and macOS devices, including installation, configuration, and break‑fix troubleshooting.
• Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) tasks for IT assets and execute system imaging for laptops and desktops.
• Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain printers and network printers.
• Support Office 365 applications and resolve user account issues.
• Install and configure compliance and security software.
• Assist with conference‑room AV equipment and meeting‑room technology.
• Coordinate hardware repairs, replacements, and escalations with OEMs and vendors.
• Maintain accurate IT inventory records and asset tracking documentation.
• Deliver high‑touch VIP/end‑user support and adhere to defined SLAs.
• Participate in after‑hours activities, events, and recurring meetings as needed.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of desktop and laptop troubleshooting and configuration.
• Hands‑on experience with hardware installation, peripheral devices, and basic networking (DHCP, DNS, LAN).
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Experience managing IT inventory and coordinating with vendors.
