Finance Manager, Marketplace & E-commerce Operations

About the role

Rwaj is a live‑commerce marketplace serving the Middle East, enabling sellers to sell via livestreams, auctions and direct listings. We are seeking a hands‑on Finance Manager to own the financial operations of the marketplace, including accounting, seller payouts, VAT compliance, reconciliations and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day finance operations: track buyer payments, seller balances, platform commissions, refunds and payouts.
• Ensure accurate recording of all marketplace transactions and monitor outstanding balances, payable amounts and operational financial exposure.
• Support monthly close, financial reporting and management review processes.
• Build and maintain controls around seller payouts, wallet balances, refunds, adjustments and transaction reconciliation.
• Review financial exceptions, unmatched transactions, failed payouts and delayed settlements.
• Define approval workflows and internal policies for payouts, refunds and financial exception handling.
• Coordinate VAT preparation, reporting and compliance, working with external accountants and tax advisors.
• Ensure correct VAT treatment for marketplace sales, shipping charges, refunds, credit notes and cross‑border activity.

Required profile

• Experience in finance or accounting within e‑commerce, marketplace or similar high‑growth environments.
• Comfortable working in a startup setting, building processes from scratch and translating business operations into clear financial controls.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to monitor financial exposure and support management decision‑making.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle complex transaction flows.
