Fleet Salesman

About the role

The Fleet Salesman is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fleet operations, from vehicle acquisition and disposal to maintenance, repair, and sales support. The role ensures high vehicle uptime, cost‑effective management, and timely responses to customer tenders.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor fleet activities, manage asset allocation, dispatch, routing and vehicle acquisition/disposal.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections and repairs to minimise downtime.
• Prepare and quote fleet pricing, compile tender documents and respond to customer requests.
• Develop strategies to extend vehicle lifespan and reduce lifecycle costs.
• Manage parts inventory, procurement and supplier negotiations.
• Oversee shipping, receiving and documentation for fleet movements.
• Supervise warehouse staff, conduct audits and ensure warranty claims are processed accurately.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors, customers and internal sales teams.
• Develop and control workshop budgets, monitor financial metrics and implement cost‑saving measures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fleet operations, vehicle maintenance or related logistics.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage budgets and cost controls.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities with suppliers and customers.
• Detail‑oriented, capable of handling documentation, audits and warranty processes.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate with sales and marketing teams.
