Float Teacher – Preschool & Infant/Toddler

About the role

The Float Teacher provides flexible, on‑site support across preschool and infant/toddler classrooms, delivering high‑quality child development experiences that emphasize cognitive, social, and emotional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily care routines such as toileting, meals, hand washing, tooth brushing, and classroom cleaning.
• Engage in responsive, supportive adult‑child interactions that respect each child’s needs and play interests.
• Provide extra support to teaching teams during nap times, transitions, and planning periods.
• Cover breaks and ensure smooth operation of the site’s schedule.
• Contribute to a positive employee experience and efficient organizational operations.

Required profile

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or equivalent coursework meeting NH State Childcare Licensing requirements.
• Experience: Prior experience in an early childhood classroom setting (preschool, infant/toddler).
• Characteristics: Attention to detail, confidentiality, problem‑solving ability, and commitment to fostering a positive classroom environment.
• Technical: Successful criminal record check and current CPR/First Aid certification.

• Ability to interact comfortably with young children and their families, including income‑eligible families.
