Food Safety Specialist

About the role

The Food Safety Specialist ensures that all products are processed, packaged and prepared in compliance with internal and regulatory food safety standards. The role supports the implementation of integrated management systems and drives continuous improvement across the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Implement 5S principles and corrective actions within the food safety department.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, HACCP, OHSAS 18001, ISO 22000, BRC and customer requirements.
• Lead the Food Defense Program and verify its effectiveness.
• Conduct internal audits, issue corrective and preventive actions, and report to management.
• Ensure all personnel receive required training before starting work.
• Validate lethality programs, verify SSOPs for allergen‑containing equipment, and support gap analysis for sanitation standards.
• Implement and monitor the Pathogen Environmental Monitoring Program (pEMP) and perform baseline risk assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field.
• 1‑4 years of experience in food industry safety, GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, IFS or BRC.
• Strong customer centricity, effective communication and teamwork.
