Game Developer - Voxel-Based Engine (Java)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Game Developer to build and evolve a custom voxel‑based engine from the ground up. The role is fully remote, allowing you to collaborate with a distributed team while having significant influence over core architecture and engine development.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement rendering systems and graphical features for Minecraft‑style voxel environments.
• Develop spatial data structures, world generation, and voxel‑based environment capabilities.
• Optimize memory usage, performance, and resource management for efficient engine operation.
• Integrate 2D, 2.5D, and 3D assets, including those created with Blender, into the engine pipeline.
• Build and maintain internal tools for asset management, builds, packaging, and testing workflows.
• Prototype future‑facing features such as AI capabilities and external API integrations.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in computer science principles, data structures, algorithms, and software architecture.
• Proficiency in Java or ability to quickly learn Java within a JVM environment.
• Understanding of low‑level programming concepts, memory management, and pointers/references.
• Experience with or strong interest in custom game engines, voxel systems, and graphics programming.
