General Practitioner – Emergency Medicine

About the role

The General Practitioner in Emergency Medicine will provide comprehensive medical care to patients presenting to the Emergency Room of Care National Hospital. The role demands rapid assessment, timely treatment, and safe discharge while upholding professional ethics and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Triaging patients according to acuity in collaboration with ER nurses.
• Conducting full clinical assessments, including history, physical exam, and necessary investigations.
• Initiating appropriate medical treatment and stabilising surgical, orthopaedic, medical and paediatric emergencies.
• Referring patients to specialised physicians when required and coordinating admissions.
• Documenting all clinical actions in accordance with hospital policies.
• Participating in departmental education, training activities and quality initiatives.
• Educating patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans and health promotion.

Required profile

• Medical degree with valid licence to practice in Saudi Arabia.
• Minimum 24 months of experience in emergency or acute care settings.
• Knowledge of CBAHI, JCIA standards and Ministry of Health regulations.
• Ability to manage critical cases across surgical, orthopaedic, medical and paediatric domains.
• Strong commitment to professional ethics and patient‑centred care.
