Head of Design & Studies Department

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Design & Studies Department to lead and develop our multidisciplinary design team in Riyadh. The role involves overseeing architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical design activities while ensuring compliance with Saudi regulations and project standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Design & Studies Department across architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.
• Ensure full coordination and integration between all engineering specialties.
• Review and approve drawings, design packages, calculations, technical reports, specifications, and related documents before issuance.
• Guarantee that all design deliverables comply with the Saudi Building Code, local authority requirements, and project specifications.
• Manage design workflows, internal technical reviews, coordination procedures, and submission schedules.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, authorities, consultants, and internal engineering teams.
• Build and develop the department by attracting qualified talent, defining roles, and establishing efficient internal workflows.
• Establish and improve design procedures, technical review processes, quality‑control standards, templates, and coordination methodologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.
• 10–15 years of experience in engineering design within consultancy firms or offices in Saudi Arabia.
• Professional Engineer or Consultant Engineer classification with the Saudi Council of Engineers.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code, authority approval procedures, and local regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, technical review, coordination, and design‑management abilities.
• Capability to build, organize, and develop the department and its technical team.
