Head of Patient Services

About the role

The Head of Patient Services leads the delivery of high‑quality, compassionate care to every patient at NMC Hospitals and Clinics. This senior position oversees all patient‑service functions, ensuring compliance with national accreditation standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding for every patient.
• Lead, develop and manage Patient Services managers, supervisors, coordinators and support staff.
• Plan, schedule and direct departmental work to meet hospital objectives and patient needs.
• Implement and update policies, procedures and regulations in line with JCIA and CBAHI standards.
• Prepare and monitor departmental budget, financial reports and resource requirements.
• Chair departmental meetings, document minutes and collaborate with other department heads on quality initiatives.
• Oversee recruitment, orientation and training of patient services staff.
• Monitor performance, conduct evaluations and identify training and career development needs.
• Ensure compliance with patient rights, confidentiality and quality standards across OPD, ER, OHG, Social Services and Switch Board.

• Strong leadership and communication skills, including listening and effective delegation.
• Commitment to confidentiality of patient and administrative information.
