Health Safety Environment Officer

About the role

The Health Safety Environment (HSE) Officer will develop, implement and monitor health, safety and environmental strategies for a high‑speed food‑production facility. The role ensures that safety measures align with food‑safety requirements and local regulations while supporting sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for production lines, focusing on lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding and ergonomics.
• Lead root‑cause investigations of near‑misses and accidents and drive corrective actions.
• Design and deliver safety induction and specialized training such as forklift safety and chemical spill response.
• Integrate HSE protocols with food‑safety standards, ensuring food‑grade PPE and safe handling of CIP chemicals and refrigerants (ammonia, CO₂).
• Manage waste disposal, hazardous chemical handling and resource‑conservation programs, including water‑usage monitoring.
• Act as primary liaison with regulatory bodies (e.g., Saudi Food and Drug Authority, Modon) for permits and compliance.
• Perform internal audits and site walkthroughs to maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• NEBOSH IGC certification (mandatory); OSHA or IOSH certifications preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing or FMCG environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
